Rise in Unity Youth Hub – with Life Skills & Martial Arts
Unity Hub – Lockwood, Huddersfield
We are excited to announce the opening of our new Youth Hub in Lockwood- a safe and supportive space where young people can socialise, develop life skills, and build confidence through engaging activities. The hub also offers fitness programmes, including martial arts sessions focused on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and Freestyle Kickboxing.
Our Youth Hub is open to young people aged 8 to 18, and also supports young people aged 18 to 25 with SEND needs.
The Youth Hub was originally launched with support from the West Yorkshire Mayor’s Fund, helping us get started and open our doors to local young people. We are now proudly supported through funding from The National Lottery via the Million Hours Fund, enabling us to expand opportunities, enhance our activities, and continue building a welcoming space where young people can thrive.

Our Youth Hub provides:
• A variety of fun games and creative activities
• Life skills and personal development workshops
• Martial arts sessions, including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Freestyle Kickboxing
• A secure and welcoming environment led by a qualified youth worker
• Fully trained staff, including DBS-checked team members, a safeguarding lead, a first aider, and a fire safety marshal
Session times:
Monday: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Tuesdays: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Wednesdays: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Thursdays: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturday: 12:00 - 14:00 PM
