Rise in Unity CIC provides part-time KS4 Alternative Provision in Huddersfield for young people who are struggling in mainstream education due to SEND, SEMH, anxiety, behaviour, or attendance challenges. Our provision supports engagement, wellbeing and positive outcomes while working alongside schools and families.

Rise in Unity CIC provides KS4 Alternative Provision and re-engagement support for young people across Huddersfield who are struggling to access mainstream education. We work in partnership with schools, local authority services and families to deliver part-time, short-term programmes that support attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and engagement.
Our provision is relationship-led and trauma-informed, offering personalised learning pathways, accredited learning where appropriate, and structured routines designed to support regulation, confidence and positive outcomes.
Young people access learning in small groups within a calm, structured environment. Our KS4 provision focuses on Functional Skills in English and Maths, Employability skills and Personal & Social Development (PSD), alongside emotional regulation and wellbeing support.
Where appropriate, structured physical activity is used as a regulation and engagement tool, supporting focus, confidence and behaviour within clear boundaries and routines. All delivery is underpinned by trauma-informed practice and consistent staffing.
Our KS4 Alternative Provision operates on a part-time basis, with flexible days and hours agreed in collaboration with the referring school or local authority. We maintain small cohorts and high staff-to-learner ratios, allowing for individualised support and close supervision.
Each learner has an individual support plan, agreed outcomes and regular review points. Learners remain on roll with their referring school, and placements are designed to support stabilisation and reintegration wherever possible.
We provide schools and commissioners with clear, consistent reporting, including:
Weekly attendance and engagement updates
Behaviour and wellbeing summaries
Progress against agreed outcomes
End-of-placement reports to support next steps
This ensures transparency, accountability and effective partnership working.
Referrals to our KS4 Alternative Provision can be made by:
Secondary schools
Local Authority teams
Early Help and partner services
All referrals are discussed collaboratively to ensure suitability, safeguarding alignment and clarity of expectations.
