Our Learning Hub provides ASDAN qualifications, mentoring, and trauma-informed support for learners with SEND, EHCPs, SEMH, or those referred through probation.
We offer small group sessions, 1:1 support, and a focus on personal growth, helping young people re-engage with education and build brighter futures.

Our weekly Youth Hub creates a safe space for young people aged 8–18.
The hub encourages young people to socialise, build confidence, and make positive choices in their community through games, activities, workshops, and volunteering opportunities.

Martial Arts & Self-Defence
Through our partnership with Ground Control BJJ, we teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self-defence in a safe, non-aggressive way.
Martial arts help young people develop discipline, respect, and resilience, while improving fitness and mental well-being.

Short-term, high-impact provision to re-engage learners.
At Rise in Unity CIC, we are developing a SEND-friendly, trauma-informed Learning Hub pilot to support schools, academies and local authorities in Kirklees from 2025–26.
Our vision is to create a safe and inclusive environment where young people who struggle to engage in mainstream education can access tailored, high-impact support. We aim to combine accredited qualifications with wellbeing, life skills and self-defence to build confidence, resilience and pathways back into positive education or training.
Our Approach
- Trauma-informed and relational practice.
- Flexible, short-term placements focused on re-engagement.

- Balance of academic learning and wellbeing/physical activity.

Next Steps
The Learning Hub is currently in the development stage. We are working with schools, multi-academy trusts and local partners to ensure the model is responsive to local need and provides genuine value to learners at risk of exclusion or disengagement.

Youth Hub at Rise in Unity!
Unity Hub – Lockwood, Huddersfield
We are excited to announce the launch of our new Youth Hub in Lockwood, providing a safe, engaging space for young people to socialise, learn life skills, and grow in confidence.
📍 Location: Perseverance Mills, Lockwood Scar, Lockwood, Huddersfield, HD4 6BW
What we offer:
✅ Fun games and creative activities
✅ Life skills and personal development workshops
✅ Martial arts (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Freestyle Kickboxing)
✅ A safe, welcoming environment led by a qualified youth worker
✅ All staff are DBS checked, with a qualified first aider, safeguarding lead and fire safety marshal on site
Sessions:
- Tuesdays 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Thursdays 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
