Alternative Provision with Life Skills & Martial Arts

Safeguarding is central to our Alternative Provision in Huddersfield. Rise in Unity CIC provides a safe, structured and supportive environment for young people accessing Alternative Provision (AP), including learners with SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety-based school refusal, and behaviour and attendance challenges. We work in partnership with schools, families and local authority professionals to keep young people safe and to support positive engagement and reintegration.

We follow safeguarding procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and local safeguarding guidance.

All staff and volunteers working within our Alternative Provision and youth services:

• Have an Enhanced DBS check (with barred list check where applicable)
   
• Are recruited using safer recruitment processes
   
• Complete safeguarding and child protection training
   
• Are trained in trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour support and de-escalation
   
• Work to clear professional boundaries, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
